How Afuncity handles personal information collected through the app and related in-app services.

Introduction

Fuvahmulah City Council ("us", "we", or "our") operates the Afuncity mobile application and related in-app services (the "Service").

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") governs your use of the Service and explains how we collect, safeguard, and disclose information that results from your use of the Service.

We use your data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy.

Definitions

Personal Data

Data about a living individual who can be identified from those data, or from those data together with other information in our possession or likely to come into our possession.

Usage Data

Data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself, for example time spent in the app or on specific screens.

When you access the Service with a mobile device, this Usage Data may include information such as the type of device you use, your device unique ID, the IP address of your device, your device operating system, the type of Internet browser you use, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.

Location Data

We may access your device location if you give us permission to do so ("Location Data"). We use this data to support location-based features in the app, such as map and nearby-service features, and to attach location information to reports when you choose to submit it.

We do not use device location for continuous background tracking. You can enable or disable location services for the app at any time through your device settings.

Tracking Technologies

We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our Service and hold certain information.

Cookies are files with a small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies may be sent to your browser from connected web services and stored on your device. Other tracking technologies, such as beacons, tags, scripts, and local device storage, may also be used to collect and track information and to improve and analyze our Service.

You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.

Fuvahmulah City Council uses the collected data for various purposes, including but not limited to:

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside of your atoll, island, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.

If you are located outside Maldives and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to Maldives and process it there.

Fuvahmulah City Council will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. No transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place, including the security of your data and other personal information.

Disclosure of Data

We may disclose personal information that we collect, or that you provide, if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

Security of Data

The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100 percent secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Amendments to This Privacy Policy

We may amend this Policy at any time by posting the amendments in the Service. It is your responsibility to review the Policy periodically.

By continuing to access or use the Service after any revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Policy. If you do not agree to the new Policy, you are no longer authorized to use the Service.
